The lot features a tanned hide leather rifle scabbard which is accented by beadwork and fringes from the Lakota Sioux Indians. The piece is comprised of tanned leather and trade clothe which is adorned with glass trade seed beadwork in a geometric pattern showing colors of Cheyenne pink, cobalt and white. The full size rifle scabbard or rifle sheath shows a red trade clothe and beadwork on both sides with a nice larger section of the two at the end and opening along with fringes at each end as well. The fringes have rolled copper jingle cones along with glass trade beads of a larger padre style size in colors of dark blue, white and pink along with several cylindrical bugle beads of the same colors. The trade clothe have several worn spots or loss as shown. The beadwork shows little to no loss. The fringes also show a beaded and clothe section. A nice looking rifle scabbard from the late 20th Century. Measures overall 53"L by 15"W including fringes.
