The lot features an excellent beaded pipe bag from the Lakota Sioux Native American Indians and dating to circa 1890. The bag shows a wonderful colorful glass trade seed beaded geometric traditional period design on soft and supple Indian tanned antelope hide. The piece still shows the original carry top strap attached. The piece shows beadwork on both sides of the bag in such early colors as chalk white, medium semi-transparent green, black, red, semi-transparent dark blue, semi-transparent, and blue. The base of the bag shows fantastic long cut original fringe. This is a fine authentic example in an artful excellent condition.
