The lot features a very large men’s set of buffalo track beaded antique moccasins from the Lakota Sioux of the Northern Plains. The set is shows thick buffalo hide Indian tanned sinew sewn body with thick trade leather soles covered on the front with a large section of old glass trade seed beads (1800’s) showing a classic antique Buffalo Track and Tipi geometric design in chalk white, greasy green, greasy yellow and cobalt with accents in Maltese crosses all sinew sewn. The bottom edge border shows later old repaired glass seed beads with a zig-zag design in red, white, orange and blue. The thick tongue and ties are still attached, an old velvet like trade clothe piped border. One of the largest sets we have offered showing well kept little bead loss and medium soft hides with old repairs. Each measures 12-inches long by 4.75-inches wide by 5-inches high.
