Featured in this lot is this refurbished and working Lancaster Blower No. 40, produced and sold by Champion Blower & Forge Company in Lancaster, Pennsylvania circa 1940-50s. Henry Keiper, then 17, started the Champion Blower & Forge Co., a well-known maker of blacksmithing machinery, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1875. The company manufactured a wide range of items, including drills, forges, and other equipment. Some claim the company revolutionized the industry by producing drills of various sizes, including hand crank drills and those that could run from a line shaft. This blower is in great condition and runs smoothly. On the blower side it reads, "Lancaster" while the opposite side reads, "Lancaster Geared Blower No. 40 / Champion Blower & Forge Co. Lancaster, PA U.S.A.". The blower is in good condition overall and was serviced and refurbished by the owner. Oil has been placed in the gear box as well. The blower measures 16 1/8" L x 16 1/8" W x 48 1/4" H.
