In this lot is a U.S. Highway 101 marker sign. U.S. Highway 101 is a north-south highway between Los Angeles, California and Tumwater, Washington. It is also known as El Camino Real (The Royal Road) where its route along the southern and central California coast approximates the old trail, which linked the Spanish missions, pueblos, and presidios. US.101 originally went all the way south to the Mexican border but now ends in Los Angeles. The sign is made of sheet metal aluminum and reflective plastic coating in white and black. The sign is in a "shield" shape. The "shield" is white with a black boarder, the letters US, and the numbers 101 in the center; in a box on the bottom, it says "Property State of California". This sign is in like-new condition. The sign measures 24" X 28".
