This is an original large oil on canvas by American artist Robin Long-Sartain of a Posse of Cowboys in the Ravine circa 1990’s. The painting features a wonderfully and professionally crafted oil on canvas construction and shows a scene of a large posse of horseman riding through a desert ravine. The color contrast of the sunshine off the sand rock of the ravine and the black sky shows great attention to detail and shows a lone horseman in the front carrying a rifle with the rest of the posse in the distance. The frame shows sturdy construction and is professionally crafted with large iron studs expertly space throughout the frame. The condition of this framed oil painting is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The piece is from a Southwestern Montana Yellowstone estate where the piece was purchased in the 1990’s from an art gallery. Robin Long-Sartain was a prominent Montana and California Artist during the 1980’s and 1990’s with a focus on Western American History as well as several iconic mural works in California. This is likely one of if not the best painting from Robin’s illustrious career. The measurements of this framed oil painting are 44" x 54 1/2" and the visible art measures 34 3/4" x 49".
