In this lot we have a Late 1900s Lakota Flute Carved Bird Block. This flute is well crafted in its modern style. Showing a hand carved Bird block that directs the player's breath from the first chamber called the slow air chamber into the second chamber called the sound chamber. This flute was made by the Lakota. The Lakota are a Native American tribe. Also known as the Teton Sioux they are one of the three Sioux tribes of Plains. Their current lands are in North and South Dakota. The measurements of this flute are 18 3/4." in length with a 1 1/4" diameter.
