Featured in this lot is this marbled board and leather bound 1881 edition of, "Le Magasin Pittoresque" an illustrated French magazine, designed to educate and entertain a broad audience with engaging visual and literary content, first published in 1833 by Édouard Charton. Recognized for its contributions to knowledge and education, Le Magasin Pittoresque received accolades at the Exposition Universelle of 1867 and 1878, marking its significance in the literary and artistic world of the 19th century. This volume, which is in its 49th year of publication, shows a half-leather binding, a marbled paper cover, traditional raised bands on the spine, and red and green title labels with gold gilt lettering. It shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years such as scuffing to the front cover and small tears in some of the pages. No major signs of damage noted. It measures 11 3/4" L x 8 1/4" W x 1" D and weighs 2 pounds and 10 ounces.
