Featured in this lot is this Chippewa / Cree, beaded and rawhide wrapped, brass head pipe tomahawk made by Leonard & Laurie Many Trails in the 20th Century. This pipe tomahawk shows a wood construction with a solid brass head and pipe piece. Below the axe head is a tuft of fure and a wrap of tanned or dyed rawhide. The rawhide wrap features numerous long strips of rawhide with brown feathers, trade beads and copper beads. Below the rawhide is a section of beads showing colors of translucent brown, cream and black. Brass tacks are present in the rawhide wrap. The piece shows good condition overall with no wear or damage present. It measures 18 7/8" L x 8 3/4" W x 1 1/8" D and weighs 1 pound and 8 ounces.
