This was a special edition book sold only by subscription with very few copies still remaining. The book tells the thrilling true tail of our Gneral-In-Chief and later President of these United States with excellent illustrations. The book was published by E.B. Treat & Co., Publishers 654 Broadway New York along with C.W. Lilley Chicago, ILL. A.L. Talcott, Puttsburg, PA., A.H. Hubbard Philadelphia, PA., A. Roman & Co. San Francisco, CAL. Printed by The Trow & Smith Book Manufacturing Company, New York. The book shows the original rare hard leather binding with gilt gold framed pages. The cover shows an excellent pressed paisely leaf design framing a gilt gold portrait of General Ulysses S. Grant, with the rear cover having a mirror of the front without gilt. The spine is marked in gilt lettering and shows the U.S. Eagle. The books shows signs of use, but is in good condition for being 150 years old. Measures 8 3/8"L x 5 5/8"W x 1 5/8" Thick.
