Included in this lot is two original signed Lily Tolpo oil paintings, Two Medicine Peak, 1953 and Mammoth Valley, 1955. Lily Tolpo (1917-2015) was the wife of artist Carl Tolpo. She was known as an American painter, sculptor, and designer who worked from Illinois studios for over six decades. The first oil painting is named "Two Medicine Peak" depicting the stunning Two Medicine Lake and Sinopah Mountain that is located in the southeastern section of Glacier National Park. This piece is signed "Lily Tolpo" on the bottom of the painting and on the back marked " Medicine Peak, Glacier Park, Sept 1953". This 1950s Western landscape painting by Lily Tolpo, portrays the Mammoth Valley in Wyoming in the late afternoon with trees and bears foraging in the foreground, rocky mountain valleys in the background and incoming storm clouds overhead. On the bottom right of the painting, it is signed "Lily Tolpo 8-25-55". On the back of this oil painting is marked "Lily Tolpo, Mammoth, Aug 25, 1955". These pieces measure 16" by 12".
