For your consideration is this Los Ballesteros sterling bracelet made in Taxco, Mexico circa 1950s. Jail Ballesteros formed Talleres de Los Ballesteros in 1937. The family business relocated to Taxco in 1941 and blossomed into a successful Plateria (Silversmith and Jewelry Shop) noted for its unique creations of collectible and timeless high-quality jewelry. During the 1950s, piecework was outsourced to smaller family workshops in the Taxco area, with the items labeled Talleres de los Ballesteros. These items were sold in shops all around the country, including Mexico City and Acapulco. In addition, the company began exporting jewelry in 1952. This bracelet shows a wide construction of sterling and a chain where the bracelet is connected to keep the two ends from separating completely. The link designed bracelet features geometric patterns cut through the links and is marked on the bottom with various marks reading, "Talleres de los Ballesteros / Hencho En Mexico / Sterling 925 / 39". The piece shows good condition overall with a light patina forming throughout. No obvious signs of damage is noted. Clasp does not lock and slips out. The bracelet measures a width of 1 1/16" and approximately 8 1/8" from clasp to clasp. It weighs 84 grams.
