Featured in this lot we have a Centennial Commemorative bronze statue pedestal by Lyle Johnson. Lyle Johnson is a Montana sculptor and artist. He is known for his large metal monument sculptures and he is located in Billings, Montana. The pedestal displays seven bronze western sculptures with three brass plaques across the bottom. The bottom set of statues shows a bronze of a rancher holding a branding iron, a pair of Native American Women wrapped in a blanket, and a western trapper in buck skin clothes and holding a rifle with ducks draped on his back. The middle tier of the piece shows three bronze animal mounts depicting a large bull elk, grizzly bear, and bald eagle. The top of the piece displays a Native American brave on horseback. The brave is depicted wearing a large eagle feather headdress and holding a shield. The base of the top bronze statue is marked "Lyle E. Johnson 1985" and is marked 3/125. The first of the plaques across the bottom reading "Montana 1889- 1989 Centennial Commemorative artist: Lyle E. Johnson". The second plaque is marked "In Memory Of The Beautiful Natural Resources And Courageous People That Make Montana Great" and the third reading "Created Especially For Scarwind 6/125 1985". The piece shows good condition overall with some light wear due to age. The piece measures 38" tall by 24" across and 28 1/2" at the widest.
