Featured in this lot is a Michael Kabotie Lomawywesa (Hopi, 1942-2009) sterling silver inlaid Number 8 Turquoise bracelet circa 1970-1990s. The bracelet shows a combination of his documented "K" hallmark and the Lomawywesa / Lomawywisamark, seen on other pieces. Michael Kabotie Lomawywesa / Lomawywisa was born September 3, 1942 in Shongopovi, Arizona to Alice Talayaonema, a traditional Hopi basket weaver, and the Hopi artist, Fred Kabotie. Michael was a renowned silversmith artist and a member of the Hopi tribe in Arizona, USA. He was known for his unique style that blended traditional Hopi designs with modern techniques and materials. The bracelet features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver and turquoise construction. The bracelet is intricately inlaid with square cabochon set into patterns the turquoise shows majestic spider webbing patterns throughout all the cabochon. It is also marked sterling. The condition of this bracelet is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurement of this bracelet is 7" long. The collective weight of this bracelet is 25.4 grams.*
