Featured in this lot are two sterling necklaces with a purple labradorite cabochon pendant from silversmith Malia Stewart. Both feature a 925 Italian box link sterling necklace. The first is a rectangular cut cabochon of purple labradorite set into a sterling rope border. The labradorite displays an iridescent optical effect known as Labradorescence, which is the peculiar reflection of the light from submicroscopical planes orientated in one direction. This piece shows stunning purple in its Labradorescence. The measurement of the first pendant is 3/4" x 1 1/8", the necklace measures 18" from clasp to clasp and the total weight is 14.8 grams. The second is an oval cut purple labradorite cabochon set into a sterling rope border. This piece shows colors of magenta, yellow and orange in its Labradorescence. The pendant measures 1" x 1 1/4", the necklace measures 18" from clasp to clasp and the total weight is 13.3 grams. Over all the necklaces show good condition and have no signs of damage.
