This is an original Montana Territory Knives of Bozeman, Montana camp knife with an excellent scrimshaw Charles M. Russell signature. The blade has been forged from 1095HC (High Carbon) steel and 15N20 Nickel Carbon which is then heated and folded into 396 layers creating the astounding “Damascus” steel and shows artful blacksmith forged hammering at the spine, a truly rustic Montana addition. The knife shows a wonderful ladder Damascus pattern. The hollow grind full tang blade has been paired with a set of nice white wild Buffalo bone grip scales which are secured to the piece using two mosaic pins and six brass pins. The knife also features a set of polished stainless-steel bolsters with a comfortable finger well. The tang and knife spine have been artfully hand vine filled. The grips have also artfully been scrimshaw etched with the signature of Charles Marion Russell. C.M. Russell (American 1864-1926) is the most notable Montana and Old Western Artist of all time and considered a true treasure of Montana. This example shows an original artwork C.M. Russell signature with Buffalo Skull which has been etched into handle. The knife is in brand new condition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity along with a Lifetime warranty. The blade is marked with the “MONTANA TERRITORY KNIVES BOZEMAN MONTANA” stamping which shows the outline of Montana. The knife has been paired with a Great American Bison Buffalo leather hand crafted sheath. The knife measures overall 9 1/2" in length with the blade being 4 3/4" long. The knife and sheath together measure 10" long.
