Featured in this lot we have a M1871 Mauser 8mm Rifle combat bayonet and metal sheath originating from the early to mid 1900's. The bayonet was designs to fit the Mauser ASFA rifle. The bayonet shows a steel blade with a steel guard and pommel and a wood grip. The blade displays a primary cutting edge with a fuller running the length of the blade. The grip shows wood siding with a metal attachment point. The pommel is marked across the side, reading "ASFA" on one side and "196402". The bayonet comes with its original metal sheath with belt attachment point. The piece shows good condition overall with little to no wear. The bayonet measures 15" long overall with the blade being 10" long.
