Featured in this lot is this 1st edition, 1882 Ma-Ka-Tai-Me-She-Kia-Kiak or Black Hawk which is an autobiography dictated by himself and interpreted by Antoine LeClair and edited by J.B. Patterson in Rock Island, Illinois in 1833. This is an autobiography embracing the traditions of his nation, various wars in which he has been engaged, and his account of the cause and general history of the Black Hawk War of 1832; along with his surrender, and travels through the United States. The condition of this book is preserved with some wear to the cover and to the spine of the book along with browning to the pages of the book, but otherwise in well preserved condition. The measurements of this book are 8 1/4"L x 5 3/8"W. The collective weight of this book is 14oz.
