Featured in this lot we have a Maadi Company Egyptian ARM model MISR 10 semi auto rifle chambered in 7.62x39 caliber. Maadi Company was founded after WWII when the Soviet Union took interest in Egypt and offered to aid them in producing standardized equipment for their military rather than the scavenged stockpiles left over from WWII. The Egyptians built Factory 54 where the Soviets trained their engineers how to produce AKM rifles using imported authentic parts. Years later after the Soviet Union pulled out aid and separate ties to Egypt, they left their tools and trained engineers who still had permission to manufacture AKM's. This rifle was officially designated the ARM or Automatic Rifle MISR. To this day AK model rifles produced from Factory 54 and Maadi are considered some of the best AKMs on the market though hard to come by. This rifle displays a 16" barrel, gas operated system, pistol grip, hardwood stock, semi auto only action, low capacity external magazine, and adjustable rear sight. The receiver is marked on the left side reading "MISR - 10 SEMI AUTO CAL 7.62X39mm" with the right reading "MADE BY MAADI CO. IN EGYPT IMPORTER C. AI. ST. Alb. VT" The rifle is missing the factory stamp and Steyr Importer, indicating that this was an imported rifle parts kit. The MISR-10s originate from post the 1994 ban causing some parts to be manufactured by U.S. or 3rd party manufacturers. Due to this the MISR is not held in a high regard by enthusiasts due to frequency of foreign parts often not fitting properly or rough construction. The rifle shows good mechanics with crisp trigger and good bolt carrier operation. The rifle shows good condition overall with some handling and use wear. It weighs 7lbs 4oz. Serial Number: CA 01667. This is a modern firearm and requires a FFL transfer or NICS background check.
