Featured in this lot we have a hand knotted Persian Mahal wool area rug originating from the early 1900's. The rug features a fine detailed design, bright colors, and a tight weave. The Mahal rug is a well known style of Persian rug that features geometric floral patterns and a large medallion. The rug displays geometric floral patterns across the border with a single large geometric medallion at the center of the rug. The piece shows geometric designs mirrored in each corner. The rug predominately a bright red, blue, yellow, green, white, brown, orange, and pink. The rug shows short white tassels along the border of the piece. The piece shows good condition overall with little wear and use. The rug measures 9' 8" wide by 12' 8" long.
