Featured in this lot is this framed, C.M. Russell print titled, "Mandan Buffalo Hunt" from the late 20th century, originally painted in 1903. Charles Marion Russell, also known as C. M. Russell, Charlie Russell, and "Kid" Russell, was an American artist of the American Old West. He created more than 2,000 paintings of cowboys, Native Americans, and landscapes set in the western United States and in Alberta, Canada, in addition to bronze sculptures. The print depicts a group of Native American men circling a herd of buffalo on horseback. The Native Americans are holding bows and spears, ready to strike at the right moment. In the near distance is a billow of dust caused by the stampeding of the buffalo. The print is marked in the bottom right reading, "CM Russell" with his iconic buffalo skull image beneath that. It is set in a wood frame. The visible artwork measures 11 5/8" L x 15 1/2" W, while the entire piece measures 16 1/2" L x 20 1/2" W x 1 3/4" D. It has a total weight of 3 pounds and 12 ounces.
