Featured in this lot are a pair of Mantle Lamp Company, Nu-Type Model B Aladdin Lincoln Drape oil lamp from the late 1940s to early 1950s. Those produced prior to World War II contained uranium in the glass formula which was removed due to regulations imposed by the government in the war effort. The old formula Alacite glass will glow yellow or green when exposed to a black light while the new formula lamps show purple or blue. Both of these lamps show an identical style and are marked on the wick knob reading, "Mantle Lamp Co. / Nu-Type Model B Aladdin / Patents Pending / Made In U.S.A. Chicago, Il.". They show good condition overall with some wear present from their age and use over the years, but no major signs of damage is noted. They measure 5 3/4" L x 5 3/4" W x 14" H and have a collective weight of 10 pounds.
