Included in this lot is an excellent exceptionally rare Marlin Fire Arms Company .38 double action revolver from circa 1880’s. This double action revolver features the original David Hall Rice Patent extractor. The revolver follows the design of the Smith & Wesson Top-Break double action, with a 3 1/4" round barrel, 5-shot cylinder, and even showing a crescent style trigger. Top of the barrel is marked, "Marlin Fire Arms Co. New Haven CONN. U.S.A. Patented August 2, 1887. August 9, 1887." This shows the original hard black ornate rubber Marlin Fire Arms Co. “M.F.A.C.” grips. The bottom of the right grip shows a significant break. This variant is rare due to its fully blue'd finish, while most were manufactured in nickel, with a blue'd trigger guard. The Marlin revolver is in good overall condition. Serial Number: 11910. This firearm qualifies as an Antique, and does not require FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
