Featured in this lot is a Marling model 2000 target shooting bolt action rifle chambered in .22 LR. This single shot, bolt action rifle was manufactured by Marlin Firearms Company in 1992, and are no longer in production. The model 2000, was designed as a heavy framed target shooting rifle primarily for competitive shooting, with some variants designed for biathlon use. The rifle features a 22" long round barrel, blue synthetic target shooting stock, adjustable butt plate, Lyman adjustable rear sight and hooded front sight, and blue'd metal finish. The left side of the barrel is marked "The Marlin Firearms Co. North Haven, CT. U.S.A. Model 2000 Micro-groove Barrel Cal. 22 LR Only". The rifle shows wonderful mechanical condition with a smooth action and responsive trigger. It shows good condition overall with minor wear, primarily around the butt plate and rear sight.
