The Mashad rug is a well-known style of Persian rug that typically features a lone, oversized Shah Abbasi medallion on an elaborate background. The rugs are produced in the city of Mashad, which is located in northeastern Iran. The rug displays geometric floral patterns across the border with a single large geometric medallion at the center of the rug. The piece shows geometric designs mirrored in each corner. The rug is predominately a bright red, blue, orange, green, pink, tan, and white. The rug shows short tassels at each end, with the sides tassel free. The piece shows good condition overall, with little wear and use. The rug measures 114" wide by 154" long.
