Featured in this lot is this Mata Ortiz Mogollon "Black on Black" pottery vase by Matilde de Quezada. This vase shows good construction with classic "Black on Black" design and decoration. Mata Ortiz pottery is a recreation of the Mogollon pottery found in and around the archeological site of Casas Grandes (Paquimé) in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. The condition of this pottery vase is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this pottery vessel are 5" x 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".
