This is an excellent, handwoven, flat weave rug by master weaver, Pedro Gutierrez. It was made with 100% soft, fine, handspun yarns in a beautiful Maynard Dixon pattern. The rug was handwoven with a tight weave, using 100% handspun wool yarns that offer natural variegation and durability with color fast aniline dyes. The tight, handwoven weave displays the natural fleece tones in the fine Maynard Dixon pattern in the time-honored, Zapotec, multi-generational craft by a master weaver, Pedro Gutierrez. The rug shows a phenomenal arrangement of a mixture of banded decoration and medallions throughout with lovely coloration of turmeric yellow, bright yellow, dark brown, blue, maroon, and a yellow brown. It shows wonderfully woven bands separating the star bright medallions set in pairs in three places throughout the rug. The rug also shows braided, maroon and white, wool tassels on all four corners of the rug. The piece is brand new, in pristine condition, with a fine, tight weave. The rug measures 2’ by 3’ (2 foot by 3 foot). This is a brand new rug.
