Featured in this lot we have a collection of Meagher County, Montana ephemera originating from 1892 to 1920. The collection consists of Sarter Brothers Ranch assignment of brand, 1892; a Sarter Brothers receipt for taxes paid and Clerk & Recorder return envelope, 1895; a personal letter from the Sarter Brothers attesting to a sale of livestock with brand descriptions, 1899; a Daguerreotype photograph of one of the Sarter brothers, 1890s; photograph of a Sarter cousin who was Sheriff of Lewis & Clark County Montana, 1900s; a photograph of the cornerstone laying ceremony for the Algeria Shrine Temple in Helena, Montana, with Max Sarter White Sulphur Springs Mont. written on the reverse, 1920. Meagher County Montana history includes extensive sheep ranching and precious metals mining. This ephemera is in very nicely preserved condition, the handwriting is clear and easily readable, the photographs are also well preserved. Some slight age tanning is exhibited, no other obvious marring noted. Largest item (photograph) measures 8"W x 10"L
