This lot includes a Victorian Meriden Brittania Co. Silver-plated Footed Pitcher, matte finish. Also included are one silver-plated cake and pie server and six (6) silver-plated dessert forks marked Sheffield, England. The pitcher has an engraved floral design, beaded trim along the mouth. In 1852 the Meriden Britannia Company was formed by Horace C. and Dennis C. Wilcox supplying Britannia, Albata and German silver ware, both plated and unplated, to many other firms. Meriden Britannia Company designs are included in many museum collections, including the Brooklyn Museum, New York; Dallas Museum of Art; Davis Museum at Wellesley College, MA; Jewish Museum, New York; Wadsworth Atheneum, Hartford, CT; Mint Museum, Charlotte, NC; Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England; Wolfsonian FIU, Miami Beach, FL; Yale University Art Gallery, New Haven, CT. The items are all in good overall condition, all have a uniform patina noted throughout, slight scratching noted, no other obvious marring noted.
