Presented in this lot is a Mesa Verde Square Tower House Framed Photograph. Photograph shows the striking Square Tower House structure ruins in late afternoon sunshine. With its dramatic geography, high desert light, and remarkable archaeological sites, Mesa Verde National Park houses Cliff Palace, the largest cliff dwelling in North America. Located in southwestern Colorado, it was built by the Ancestral Puebloans around 1200 A.D., this complex contains over 150 rooms and 23 kivas. For over 700 years, the Ancestral Pueblo people built thriving communities on the mesas and in the cliffs of Mesa Verde. Approximately 1 mile to the west is Square Tower House, the tallest standing structure in the park at 8 meters tall. The dramatic 27-foot (8-meter) tall, four-story tower is nestled against the cliff wall. It boasts 49-60rooms, 8 kivas roofs displaying incredibly well-preserved features, including intact original kiva roofs, ancient plaster, and rock murals. The photograph is in good overall condition, wood matted frame exhibits scuffing. Visible art measures 19.25"W x 29"L, frame is 34"W x 41"L x .75"D. Combined weight is 15lb, 10oz.
