Included in this lot we have a Mexican cavalry sword with leather sheath originating from the 1830's to 1840's. The sword was produced and used around the time of the Texas revolution and the Mexican American war. The piece shows a steel blade with a metal guard and a metal backed wood handle. The grip is metal backed wood and wrapped in copper. The sword comes with a leather sheath with a wooden interior. The sword is in fair condition overall with rust and pitting along the metal with the first inch or two missing from the tip of the blade. It measures 34" long by 4 3/4" at the widest with the sheath measuring 31 3/4" long.
