This is an excellent set of hand-woven Mexican Saltillo banded salesman sample rugs dating to circa 1940-1950’s. There are three rugs in this collection. The first shows a traditional Saltillo rug with a salmon cream field and bands of white, light blue, and red with a medallion in the center of the same coloration. The second shows a Saltillo rug with a grey field and bands of red, white, and light blue with a dark blue stripe; in the center, it shows a white thunderbird with red adornments. The last rug is a traditional example of Oaxaca pattern, showing checkered brown and light brown with a geometric pattern in the center of the rug. The condition of these rugs is good, with no obvious signs of damage. Has an original "334" old trading post auction metal brass tag. The measurements of this collection of salesman sample rugs are 21" x 10" for the largest rug, 17" x 9 1/2", and 16 1/2" x 8" for the smallest.
