The lot features a circa 1940-1950’s Mexican Saltillo salesman sample weaving collection of three pieces. There are three salesman samples in this collection. The first is the largest and shows a lovely Saltillo banded rug example with blue, brown, salmon pink, and grey bands with a yellow thunderbird in the center of the rug. The second rug is a similarly banded Saltillo rug with a bluish field, banded red and darker blue, and a medallion in the center with checkered red and cream. The smallest of the salesman samples Saltillo shows a grey blue field with banded blue and light blue with pick; the medallion in the center shows checkered light and dark blue coloration. The measurements of these rugs range from 17" x 12 1/2" for the largest, 11" x 9 1/2", and 6 3/4" x 5 1/2" for the smallest.
