Presenting this Mid- Late 19th Century U.S. Cavalry Bridle and Bit bid for your bidding pleasure. The rosettes are similar in craft as Indian War era rosettes. The Indian War most active and commonly associated with this era is during the time of 1850-1890. This piece captures the time it served in perfectly, although worn with age the functionality of its various parts is preserved well. This bridle comes complete with crown piece, and although it is missing a buckle to attach them, the bridle comes with blinders with U.S. stamped rosettes. The headstalls throatlatch is permanently attached and complete along with a unique cavalry tie-down. The bit attached is a smooth ring snaffle bit with aged wear, and a noseband attached to adjustable cheek pieces rather than a free floating cavesson. The bridle itself is adjustable in many places but the bit measurements are 7' snaffle with 3" rings.
