Featured in this lot we have an American Buffalo skinning knife set and leather carry case originating from the 1860's to 1870's. The collection consists of five skinner knives and sharpening steel. The majority of the knives display pewter poured bolsters with curved skinning blades. The set displays four unmarked knives and one knife marked "Clipper Shear Clyde, O". The collection is set into a wonderful hand made leather and wood carry sheath. The set originates from the American Indian Wars and shows good condition overall with some wear due to its age. The largest of the knives measures 12 1/4" long with a 7 3/4" blade and the shortest measures 8 1/2" long with the blade being 4 1/4" long blade with the case measuring 9 1/4" tall with the diameter being 4 1/4".
