Featured in this lot is an American Buffalo skinning knife set with wooden carry sheath, originating from the 1860's to 1870's. The collection consists of three skinner knives. The knives display wooden handles with thin, steel skinning blades. The set displays an I Wilson Shear Steel knife and two unmarked knives. The collection is set into a wonderful handmade wood carry sheath with leather belt loops. The set originates from the American Indian Wars and shows good condition overall, with some wear due to its age. The largest of the knives measures 13 1/2" long, with the blade being 9 1/2" long and the carry sheath measures 10 3/4" long by 3 3/4" wide at the top.
