For your consideration is a Heywood Wakefield mid-century circular table. This circular utility table can be used as a lamp table, picture window unit, or a high corner table. It was manufactured by Heywood Wakefield. This piece exhibits the tripod arch-legged pedestal base that was popular in the 1950's. Heywood Brothers (est. 1826) and Wakefield Company (est. 1855) merged to create Heywood Brothers & Wakefield Company; the name would be shortened to Heywood-Wakefield in 1921. The new company rose to particular popularity in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s with its solid wood, Art Deco-inspired mid-century modern furniture. Today, their pieces are among some of the most collectible furniture in America. The condition is commensurate to age. The table has a smooth finish. This piece includes the maker's mark and is stamped "M393 G". It measures 26 1/2" tall with a diameter of 29 1/2".
