Featured in this lot we have an early 1900's Dewar MFG Co. miner's carbide lantern. The lantern has a lower part that holds the fuel and an upper part that produces the flame for the light. There is a handle on the top with an open hook, as well as a hook type hand handle on the back. The disk is marked across the back reading "DEWAR MFG Co. BROOKLYN, NY. PAT PEND". The lantern shows fair condition overall with some light wear and a small hole in the bottom container with some light rust. The piece measures 14 1/2" tall overall with the bottom of the lantern measuring 3" in diameter and 4 1/2" from the front to the back of the handle.
