For bidding in this lot is an early Native American Indian necklace, originating from the Ohio River Basin, and crafted during the Late Mississippian Culture era, between 1400-1540. The effigy was excavated from a Indian Burial Mound in the early 1920's. The necklace pendant hangs on a modern Heishe bead chain. The pendant shows heavy copper verdigris, and depicts a turtle or shell. The necklace is in good condition overall. The necklace chain measures 43" long. The Pendant itself measures 1 1/8" wide, and 2" tall. The necklace is stored in a preservation riker case.
