For your consideration is this 8 book collection of books, most dating to just after the turn of the century, dealing with Montana government and Montana history. "Civics of Montana", (1896) John F. Davies, a Montana Civics textbook; "Report of the Committee on Privileges and Elections of the United States Senate Relative to the Right and Title of William A. Clark to a Seat as Senator from the State of Montana--1900" Part II. This is a very thick volume having the transcripts of testimony before the 56th Congress of the United States--original binding, 1900; "Montana Auditor Reports-1903-1908"; "Society of Montana Pioneers"--a binding of reports from the annual conventions of the Society of Montana Pioneers (1927, 1916,1917,1924--in that order). The last four books are "Contributions to the Historical Society of Montana", Volumes, IV (1903), V (1904), 7 (1910), and X (1940). The history society books here listed contain many historical photos and written histories touching various topics in Montana history. The early Montana Civics textbook gives a glimpse of what Montana students were learning late in the 19th Century. The other two books show different inner workings of State and Federal Government over 100 years ago. All books are in generally good condition. Four are re bindings and four have the original bindings. All are ex-library and have library markings.
