Featured in this lot is this Montana black bear hide stagecoach blanket circa early to mid 1900's. The stagecoach blanket show wonderful Montana black bear hide with lovely examples of fur. The stagecoach blanket shows good quality and softness to the hide, with a velvet layer underneath. Stagecoach blankets were used by definition on stagecoaches to weather the cold draft frequently accosting the travelers using this service. The stagecoach blanket shows a tag on the underside of H. Willard Son & Co. and shows an embroidered initials of 'HLJ'. The condition of this of this stagecoach blanket is good with some damage to the bear hide along the sewn edge of one of the sides of the bear hide and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this stagecoach blanket are 59 1/2" x 70".
