Featured in this lot are five Montana brand books published by various associations and clubs circa 1955, 1984, and 1994. The first brand book titled, "Brand Book" published by Blaine County Livestock Protective Association, features instructions on how to read brands, and shows many livestock brands throughout the Blaine County area including Chinook, Harlem, Lloyd, Hays and Dodson, Montana. The brand book shows a light tan front cover with black lettering and is held together with two staples. The second brand book, "Brand Book Park County Montana" was published by Park County Cattle Women and features advertisements, members of the Cattle Women, a short write up about brands, a legend, a section on how to read brands and a source of their information. It features numerous brands and advertisements throughout. It shows a green paper back construction held together with two staples. The third brand book is titled, "Meagher County Brand Book 1994" and was published by the Ringling Women's Club. This book features a few pages of advertisements in the front and back pages. The middle of the book consists of lists of numerous brands. It shows a beige paper back and is held together by two staples. The fourth brand book is smaller than the previous ones and is titled, "Meagher County Brand Book 1984" and was published by Meagher County Livestock Association. It shows an acknowledgements page, an instruction page, how to read brands and important Montana rules. A few advertisements are scattered throughout the book while the majority of the book are lists of various brands. The book shows a blue paper back construction and is held together by two staples. The final book is from Mecklenburg Livestock Company in Bozeman, Montana and features ledger lines for keeping track of cattle. The lines are for the cattle number, the weight of the cattle and the type. It shows a red paper back construction. The books in this lot show good condition overall with some wear present from their age and use over the years. No obvious signs of damage is noted. The books measure from 4 1/4" L x 3 1/8" W to 8 7/16" L x 4 7/8" W. They have a collective weight of 1 pound.
