Included in this lot we have a Montana Chief Gasoline advertising sign. Montana Chief Gasoline was marketed by and a product of the Inland Empire Refinery in Spokane,WA. The Spokane refinery was supplied with crude from Cut Bank, MT as well as Wyoming. The refinery, which was operated between 1939 and 1953, was processing 11,000 train cars of crude a year at the beginning of WWII. Inland's fuel was also marketed under the brands Washington Chief, Oregon Chief, and Idaho Chief in each of the three other states respectively. This modern sign displays wonderful graphics and good color. It is in good condition overall and measures 35" in diameter.
