This is an original Montana Territory Knives of Bozeman, Montana knife with an excellent Montana Cutthroat scrimshaw artwork. This knife is truly a work of “Montana” art as it shows the Cutthroat Trout, which is the Montana state fish, forged “rustic” Damascus, a tribute to the wilderness of our state, and scrimshaw artwork of Native American Indian heritage. The blade has been forged from 1095HC (High Carbon) steel and 15N20 Nickel Carbon, which is then heated and folded into 396 layers, creating the astounding “Damascus” steel. The knife shows a wonderful mosaic ladder Damascus. The hollow grind full tang blade has been paired with a set of nice, wild Buffalo bone grip scales, which are secured to the piece using a mosaic pin and lanyard loop. The knife also features a set of polished stainless-steel bolsters with a comfortable finger well. The tang and knife spine have been artfully hand vine filled. The grips have also been artfully scrimshaw etched with image of the Cutthroat Trout, one of the most desired fish for all fly fisherman of Montana. The knife is in brand new condition. The blade is marked with the “MONTANA TERRITORY KNIVES BOZEMAN MONTANA” stamping, which shows the outline of Montana. The knife has been paired with a Great American Bison Buffalo leather, hand crafted sheath. The knife measures 8" long overall, with the blade being 3 3/4" long. The sheath and knife together measure 8 1/2" long.
