This is an original Montana Territory Knives of Bozeman, Montana knife with an excellent Montana Mountain Landscape, scrimshaw artwork. This knife is truly a work of “Montana” art, as it shows the Rocky Mountains and rolling hills of the West with scattered towering trees on a forged “rustic” Damascus, a tribute to the wilderness of our state and scrimshaw artwork Native American Indian heritage. The blade has been forged from 1095HC (High Carbon) steel and 15N20 Nickel Carbon, which is then heated and folded into 396 layers, creating the astounding “Damascus” steel. The knife shows a wonderful raindrop Damascus pattern. The hollow grind full tang blade has been paired with a set of nice, white, wild Buffalo bone grip scales, which are secured to the piece using a mosaic pin, three brass pins, and a lanyard loop. The knife also features a set of polished stainless-steel bolsters with a comfortable finger well. The tang has been artfully hand vine filled. The grips have also artfully been scrimshaw etched with an image of the Montana Mountain Landscape. The knife is in brand new condition. The blade is marked with the “MONTANA TERRITORY KNIVES BOZEMAN MONTANA” stamping, which shows the outline of Montana. The knife has been paired with a Great American Bison Buffalo leather, hand crafted sheath. Overall, the knife measures 10" long with the blade being 5" long. The sheath and knife together measure 11" long.
