Featured in this lot is a Montana Rocky Mountain Goat felt taxidermy hide. The taxidermy hide is a wonderfully and professionally crafted Rocky Mountain Goat hide and double back felt construction that shows great quality with soft cream white fur and red and green felt backing. Possibly the most extraordinary mountaineer to ever live, the mountain goat is found in the steep, rugged terrain of Montana's mountains. This alpine athlete is a photogenic favorite of photographers and wildlife watchers and a challenging game animal. Mountain goats are found throughout Montana's portion of the Northern Rockies from the Purcell, Cabinet and Salish mountains of northwestern Montana to the Swan, Mission and Lewis & Clark ranges of north central Montana, down to the Bitterroot, Sapphire and Beaverhead mountains, the Boulder, Elkhorn, Big Belt and Tobacco Root mountains of central and South central Montana, and finally across Southwest Montana's Madison, Gallatin, Bridger, Absaroka and Beartooth mountain ranges and every range in between. The condition of this taxidermy hide is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this taxidermy hide are 35.5"W x 37.5"L, weight is 3lb, 12oz.
