For your consideration is a collection of 1930s-1940s vintage Montana State Highway Travel Ephemera, four (4) booklets featuring original artwork from Montana native son and renowned Western artist Irvin "Shorty" Shope, one of the last Western artists able to trace his artistic lineage directly to one of the two men who inspired the formation of the CAA – Charlie Russell. He was known by the Blackfoot people as, Moquea Stumik, translated as, "Man-About-Size-of-Wolf-with Heart-Big-As-Buffalo-Bull".
These travel books depict a Montana that today is a fleeting memory to the few Montanans who lived during the pre-interstate system travel era.
