For your consideration is a 19th century Petition for Pardon written "To his Excellency, the Governor of the State of Montana", November 9, 1895. The petition references the ill health of the wife of an incarcerated inmate at the Montana State Penitentiary at Deer Lodge, Montana, and has attached signatures of the petitioners, most of whom live in Ballard, Washington where the wife resides. This piece is a well preserved document, showing little sign of wear to the paper or ink. It does show fold creases to fit in an attached envelope, slight tears to the attached envelope, age tanning and foxing noted. Measures 8.5"W x 14"L as attached to envelope.
