Offered in this lot is a collection (26 pieces) of Antique Montana Territory and Early Statehood Ephemera from Helena, Montana and some items are from two years before the territorial capital was moved to Helena in 1875. Montana Territory became one of the territories of the United States on May 26, 1864, statehood not coming until 1889. Pieces include bills of sale and correspondence dated from 1873 to 1890, included letterheads from The Cosmopolitan Hotel, S.C. Ashby, Calkins & Featherly, Kleinschmidt & Bro., Davis & Wallace, and Clarke, Conrad, & Curtin among other ephemera. The pieces are in good condition with signs of age and wear including foxing and staining. Largest items measure 10"W x 11.5"L, most items average 5"W x 8.5"L
