Presented in this lot is an impressive Montana Trophy Mule Deer Antler Mount on a solid wood plaque, harvested from Ming Coulee in the Little Belt Mountains of central Montana in 1986 as noted on the reverse of plaque. The Little Belt Mountains of central Montana were historically known for their "monster muleys". Mule deer are a large species of deer that live in North America, mostly in the western United States. This species is quite large, and some individuals can stand over 42 in. tall at the shoulder. Most weigh no more than 300 lbs. but some individuals have reached up to 460 lbs. This very fine 5x5 point rack is in marvelous condition, the antlers having a muted coffee colour staining throughout. The leather skull cap is very clean, wrapping around each burr/coronet. The stained and finished 1" thick oak plaque has a rustic rough texture along the sides, the rear is unfinished with a hanger firmly attached and provenance written, "Ming Coulee Little Belt Mtns. 1986"
This mount is in good overall condition, the rack is in great condition with very nice colouring. Measures 22.5"W x 24"L x 14"D
